(GPT = “get paid to…”)

Freecash
4.4
Free
Freecash pays you to test new games on your phone or computer, with some offers paying $100s.
- Wide variety of game offers.
- Simple, transparent rewards.
- Low minimum to cash out. ($5)
- Some offers feel spammy or have unrealistic milestone requirements.
- Some offers require spending money.
- 5% transaction fee for PayPal or bank transfers.
What is Freecash?
Freecash is a get-paid-to platform to earn money:
- answering surveys
- playing games
- signing up for promotional offers
You can earn money or gift cards on Freecash through their website and from their Android app.
Important Note: Apple users can still use Freecash and get paid to play mobile games through the links on the Freecash website.
Is Freecash Legit?
Yes, Freecash is legit.
Let’s get that out of the way upfront.
Freecash was founded in 2020 and now has over 20 million registered users and has paid out over $35 million.
At press time, Freecash has a score of 4.7 on a claimed Trustpilot profile with more than 148,000 reviews. Plus, they respond to 99% of negative reviews, which shows they’re actively monitoring their reputation and trying their best to take care of users.
However, Trustpilot has also included a note to be aware that the site may contain high-risk investments, such as crypto.
But cashing out for crypto is just one of several ways to get paid through Freecash. Rewards can also be redeemed for cash and gift cards.
Who is Behind Freecash?
Freecash is owned by a German company called Almedia.
Almedia partners with a variety of brands to drive new sign-ups and user engagement.
For example, some of the game development companies that advertise with Freecash include:
How to Make Money with Freecash
Once you’ve created an account, you can complete tasks and earn.
Let’s explore the different ways to earn money on Freecash.
Offers
First, the “Offers” menu will bring up a list of available money-making offers:
You can filter these offers by:
- most popular
- highest reward
- lowest reward (not sure why anyone would do this!)
These offers range from a few cents to several hundred dollars.
You can also filter by device:
- Android
- iOS
- Desktop
Freecash highlights several “Featured Offers” in the “Earn” section the website and the “Tasks” tab in the Android app.
Games
The most popular feature of Freecash is earning rewards testing out new mobile games.
“Currently, my dashboard shows over 600 games that are available to play — most of which I’ve never played before,” our reviewer Rachel shared.
There are a wide variety of games for Android, iOS, and even your desktop computer. “It’s great that you can filter by device,” she added.
If you complete all the required milestones in the game, you can earn sometimes hundreds of dollars — which is great if you were already going to be spending time playing.
The other nice thing is you’ll still earn a portion of the reward even if you don’t reach the top milestone.
Offer Partners
For more ways to earn money, see Offer Partners.
These usually reward you for signing up for a new app or service. Of course, do your own due diligence on whether or not that app is something you really need in your life.
If it is, it makes sense to sign up for it through Freecash. “These offers are usually only for new users,” Rachel explained.
Here’s an example of the collection of Offers under MyChips:
Surveys
Another way to make money through Freecash is by taking short-ish online surveys.
These usually range from 10-20 minutes and typically pay between $0.50-$3.00.
One helpful feature of the Survey section is the drop-down box that allows you to filter by:
- top-rated
- highest paying
- quickest
The effective hourly rate for these isn’t great — usually less than $5 an hour.
Plus, there may be some privacy and security concerns here.
“When I clicked on some surveys, I got a warning from my virus protection program,” Rachel explained. “When I closed the survey, I was given an opportunity to give feedback.”
Rewards
“Freecash does a good job of gamifying their platform,” Rachel noted.
One example of that is the Rewards section, which encourages you to earn more by:
- Using the app every day (keep that streak alive!)
- Following Freecash on social media
- Downloading the mobile app
- “Leveling up” your account by completing more tasks
The more active you are in Freecash, the more you earn for each offer.
“They seem to individualize rewards based on your account history, engagement, and preferences,” Rachel added.
Affiliate Program
If you end up liking Freecash, you can also earn more by referring your friends.
This is found under the Affiliates section of your dashboard.
As with other similar apps, you can earn a percentage of your friend’s Freecash earnings for life — which can really add up if they end up being an active user or you refer a lot of people.
Freecash pays anywhere from 5-30% of your referral’s earnings. The percentage goes up the more people you refer.
(This is another way they’ve gamified the platform, incentivizing you to keep referring more active users to increase your percentages.)
Arcade
Finally, the Freecash Arcade section has a way to wager your earnings for a chance at bigger prizes.
The total “Jackpot” payout is prominently displayed at the top of the site.
“I’m fairly risk averse so didn’t play around with this gambling section too much,” Rachel said. “But if it’s play money for you, there’s always the chance to multiply your earnings.”
How to Cash Out on Freecash
Freecash earnings can be cashed out with:
- PayPal
- Bank transfer
- Gift cards
- Crypto
Once you cash out your award, it arrives quickly. Google Play, PayPal, and Amazon gift cards take up to 30 minutes.
Crypto can take up to three hours, and a bank transfer takes up to three business days.
Note: Freecash charges a 5% fee to send money to PayPal or your bank account.
Is Freecash Worth It?
Ok, this question depends on your needs, goals, and time availability.
Per Rachel, “Freecash is worth it if you like playing mobile games, answering surveys, or doing sign-up offers.”
Freecash
4.4
For the casual user, here are some thoughts:
- Use the sign-up offers to learn about apps and services that would be useful.
- Use Freecash to earn money on apps or services you plan on signing up for.
- Have fun playing games in your free time, or earn money for in-game purchases you might already make.
- Freecash does have opportunities to earn by making purchases. The offer seems to be transparent about how much you will earn for how much you spend.
- Not all offers require a purchase.
How Much Can You Earn on Freecash?
According to Freecash, it’s possible to earn $50 in 3-5 days if you spend two hours a day on tasks.
On an hourly basis, that works out to around $8-10 an hour.
“One thing that’s interesting,” Rachel said, “is that Freecash posts what other users are earning.”
For example, the 1000th place user made $30 the month we took this screenshot:
Also, you can see in the example below that the top earner, Paul, made over $4,000 in a month!
Freecash divides a $5,000 prize pot among the top 1,000 monthly earners. (The top 3 get the highest prizes, but Freecash does a good job of rewarding its most active users.)
“How much time it took Paul to achieve that is unclear,” Rachel said, “but it at least shows you what is possible.”
How to Maximize Earnings on Freecash
Here are a few things you can do to earn the most with Freecash:
- Sign up for as many relevant offers as you can.
- Read the fine print for each one to make sure you can complete the necessary tasks in the time allowed.
- Refer your friends to make a percentage of their Freecash earnings.
- Level up your account by staying active.
- Follow the Freecash Blog for more tips on maximizing your earnings.
Other Notes and Things to Consider
- Start and finish an offer on the same device to allow the offer to be tracked properly.
- Note: VPNs aren’t allowed.
- If you’re going on vacation or are a digital nomad, offers must be started and completed within the same country.
- Most offer credit instantly or within 3 days. Some offers may be pending for 30 days.
- Only one user per household is allowed.
What We Like & Dislike About Freecash
Pros
- Low minimum to cash out (as low as $2 for crypto for $5 for cash & gift cards).
- Rewards are processed quickly.
- Transparency on how much you can make with for each offer. A lot of other similar apps user a confusing point system instead.
- For those interested in cryptocurrency, there are various crypto cash-out options.
- Affiliate program
Cons
- Some offers and surveys felt spammy. Do your own independent research.
- Some offers require a purchase within a game or on promotional sign-up offers.
- There is an additional 5% fee to cash out to PayPal or transfer to your bank.
Freecash vs. Swagbucks
How does Freecash compare with other money-making apps?
“I was curious so I compared Freecash with Swagbucks,” Rachel said.
“In both sites, I found offers for Chime and SoFi.”
For these examples, Swagbucks appears to be paying more. (In Swagbucks, 100 SB equals 1 dollar.)
SoFi | Chime | |
Swagbucks | $7.50 | Up to $390 |
Freecash | $5.00 | Up to $270 |
“Next, I compared the same game offer, Animals & Coins,” Rachel said.
At first, Swagbucks appears to have the better offer, paying up to $841, $500 more than the Freecash offer.
“But the devil is in the details,” Rachel explained. “Swagbucks has some huge bonuses on this game, but unless you’re a pro, it’s unlikely to earn that amount.”
Her recommendation: Look looked at what level is reasonable for your game skill level and the time you expect to commit to it.
This can help you determine which award is best for you.
